Jeter to only DH in Boston games. To the anti-DH zealots -- is this acceptable?

Yo, DH haters, how do you process this?

Consider it yet another abomination upon the great game? Doubly so, since Jeter is willingly slumming these last few games by forgoing the glove for just the bat?

Begrudgingly accept it THIS ONE TIME ONLY because Jeter can do what he wants, it lets fans see him play a few last games, and also Jeter Jeter Jeter?

Denounce the Cap'n for not being man enough to play shortstop, as God and Joe Torre intended?

Remember to couch your answer in terms of how much you despise the very concept of the designated hitter, and whatever your standing opinion of Jeter is.

Update:

He could move up a little bit in some career totals rankings:

Plate appearances

9. Bonds 12606

10. Jeter 11598 (needs 9 to pass, doable if he plays all three games)

RBI

102t. Nettles/Rose 1314

104t. Vernon/L.Walker 1311

105. Jeter 1310

A couple of good games at the plate with runners on, he could pass four great players, including Rose.

I realize these do not represent much worth playing for, but pushing Bonds or Rose a rung down any ladder is a worthy achievement.

He's going to retire and it's only going to be 2 Games. If people want to get upset over the 161st and 162nd Games of the Season, go right ahead?

yes it is mainly because of the rivalry between Boston and New York

and it makes because this series really means nothing to either team because they are not in the playoffs

it gives ESPN more to brag about or harp or whatever they do for it

Let hi have one last hurrah even the die hard Boston fans appreciate a great ball player no mater what team they are playing on

It's acceptable because he hasn't been much of a factor in games the last few years anyway. It is also okay because we can't do a darned thing about it and oh...yeah...I don't give a rip.

He should be on the field at his normal position which is SS, Ted Williams and Mickey Mantle didn't DH in their last games.

Jeter has earned the right to do whatever he wants. I like the fact he said he wants his last memory at SS to be in Yankee stadium.

Yes, but the real question is whether using PEDs or gambling on the game of baseball is worse.
