Can a tradesman donate his time to a church and get a tax credit?

I am an electrician and a friend of mine is doing some work in his church. He doesn't have money to pay me. Could I donate my time to his church and get a tax credit from hia church instead of him paying me?

No, you get no deduction for your donated time, only for actual out of pocket expenses ssuch as materials and supplies.

No. Donations of time are not deductible. If they were the value of the time would have to be reported as income first which would be counterproductive.
