Win 7 on desktop, it's not an authorized copy. Is Microsoft shutting down computers that don't have authorized OS?

    ps----someone called to say it was illegal, and computer is all messed up now, won't turn on and was told to take computer to repair shop. I thot it was scam, but don't know.
