Can you answer this question about the Bible and preaching the good news of Jesus to the whole world?

What modern-day organization or organizations were the first ones formed for the purpose of reaching the entire world with the message of Christ? In what year or what years were they formed, and in what year was it claimed they had succeeded in their goal? I will give you a hint. It was not Catholicism, it was not any Protestant denomination in Christianity and it was before you were born. I believe there are two that qualify. I am asking to see if someone can add to my knowledge and/or correct me if I am wrong. If no one else gets what I believe to be the correct answer, then I will share the answer myself when I pick Best Answer.

Update:

I think that the answers I have gotten is as close as anyone is going to come. The following is what I was looking for.

The British and Foreign Bible Society was established in March of 1804, the American Bible Society in May of 1816. George Storrs in May of 1843 in the Midnight Cry stated those two societies were spreading the Gospel of Christ in every part of the world, and there are numerous other references indicating that by 1844 the Gospel of christ had been spread throughout the world.

Update 2:

From all that was written around that time period, it is clear that Bible students from all over considered that Mark 13:10 and Matthew 24:14 had now (in 1844) been literally fulfilled.

I would like to thank everyone who offered their thoughts. The one who is getting Best Answer gave a much better answer than I expected from anyone.

Easy................the first century Christians started off the preaching of the good news of Gods Kingdom...............this is what Matt 24:14 says..."And this good news of the kingdom+ will be preached* in all the inhabited earth* for a witness* to all the nations;+ and then the end* will come."

Now, the fact that the end has not come yet shows that the Kingdom good news has not been preached for a witnesses to all the nations to Gods satisfaction otherwise the end would have come!

Jehovah's Witnesses are the only people that as a whole are preaching the good news of Gods Kingdom in nearly every country on EARTH.!

The watchtower magazine is helping sound the message which is the most widely distributed magazine on earth and focuses on the Kingdom. The JW.org website also helps a great deal as it is now the most translated webiste in the WORLD, available in over 500 languages. It is important that when preaching to people, that we talk to them in the language of their heart!

Although they are excellent aids to help preach the Kingdom good news, there is no substitute for getting out there in the field and doing what Jesus commanded when he said, "go out therefore and MAKE disciples of people of all the nations, TEACHING them..."

The organization was with the Apostles, beginning with the disciples before they became Apostles. It was in the first century in response to Jesus sending them out for the purpose of spreading the message.

It was not Romans Catholic, or Christian orthodox. It was not even called "Christian" at first.

It started with Jews and whoever would come and believed. John 4 shows that non-Jews were included.

  • Jehovah's Witnesses have done more to reach all the people of the earth with the good news of God's Kingdom and of Christ Jesus then anyone else.

Jehovahs witnesses, we have already preached in every country except two due to the fact that freedom of speech is not valued in those countries, and despite that some even risk their lives preaching check out our yearbook located on jw.org. And no we didn't lazily use marketing techniques or tv advertisements, we manually go door to door so as to encourage people, and give them human connection.

Source(s): I am a jw, and if you look at Wikipedia the most distributed magazine in the world is our watchtower with our awake coming in second.

The only organization instituted to teach Christ internationally is the church of Christ for which He died and was established in 33AD. There is no authority for any headquarters on earth, but only local churches led by elders from those communities, aided by deacons and preachers.
