Jehovah's Witnesses, in what two countries have you not preached?

I asked a question earlier and someone who is a member of your group claimed you have preached in every country except two. Which two are they, and do you have any plans regarding them? If so, can you share what your plans are and when you expect to accomplish them?

Thanks!

I just now went to a bookshelf and randomly pulled out the 1971 Yearbook of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Saudi Arabia was listed as a country with Witnesses and a report was given. Does that mean that there are Witnesses there now? It could very well be - since there could be children and grandchildren of the Witnesses who were there then who are now Witnesses.

I went back to the 1950 Yearbook of Jehovah's Witnesses to look for Korea - this would have been before the Korean War and the split of the North and the South. And yes, there are reports for the country of Korea n 1950 and 1951.

Iraq, Afghanistan, Qatar, China, Pakistan, Iran, Mongolia, many isolated islands, etc are all covered in the past Yearbooks.

So I am not sure what two countries it would be. I personally have done internet witnessing to an individual in Iraq.

And the video mentions Turkmenistan? Go out on tv.jw.org and listen to the report from that country and what legal battle was JUST won this October, 2014. Therefore the video given by Steph is wrong.

And Vietnam? I know some in Vietnam by name, personal acquaintances.

My husband's cousin spent five years in China as a Witness in the early 90's. She married another Witness while there.

Afghanistan is in the 1971 Yearbook. And Eritrea? Look at jw.org and check the Newsroom. There is an article on the PRESENT Witnesses in Eritrea. Someone on the video has his facts wrong.

What is presented by those who oppose is not up to date, or outright incorrect.

Go to the proper sources for the accurate information.

I am not sure of the two countries that the responder has in mind. But it would be rather indelicate for me to mention a particular one by name. This is because in point of fact, Jehovah's Witnesses are indeed preaching there but the government does not know it - obviously. A couple that used to be in my congregation was assigned there for some time. They had to be quite careful and they did not do it publicly. But preach they did. I hope you can see why it would be impolitic for me to name the country. It would endanger the Witnesses that are still there.

I'm not really sure why the Witnesses that answered are being so secretive. They are very proud and every year publish a yearbook highlighting what they've done for the past year. It isn't difficult for anyone to go to their website, get that publication and look to see which lands have no Witnesses or where there really is no preaching going on. This video should answer your question.

Steph says, "I'm not really sure why the Witnesses that answered are being so secretive."

Any countries/territories that aren't included specifically by name in the yearbooks are included in the "other lands" mentioned at the end of the service year report, and may include incomplete reports because the work of JWs is under ban in certain countries.

For any JW to declare to you countries where their work is being carried on despite bans would be putting the JWs in those countries at risk, would it not?

I am sure that would not be your intention, BKW.

As angelmusic has indicated, there are JWs even in lands where, officially, they are not.

I shall not say, because if I do, this could well compromise our brothers and sisters who are out there in these two countries. Even saying that much, could be damaging!!!!

This answer will no doubt be classified as I am "off my rocker" lol but actually, what I state is true, for I have had it from sisters and brothers themselves, saying how dangerous it is and how they have to literally cover their backs and use sign language and codes and one sister, nearly got killed, for revealing too much via phone that had been bugged by the government of this particular country.

I know one of the countries, but not the other one.

There are reasons that JW's do not publish the two--that is to protect the friends there from physical harm, but rest assured that there are JW's witnessing--but not from door to door.

I have witnessed in three different countries--two of which were banned in the past--Greece & Germany!

I'm gonna guess North Korea and Saudi Arabia.

Even "under ground" so to speak, the teaching & preaching work is being done, though this has to be kept secret for obvious reasons.

If news people are even held captive and killed, it can happen to anyone.

The good news has NOW been preached in the entire inhabited earth. With the new jw.org as well as this forum it has been preached and soon the end will come.

As Hannah J Paul said, they are preaching in those countries but unbeknowst to the governments.
