Trout FINALLY gets the AL MVP! What took the writers so long?

Trout's the best player in baseball, Chip.

The knock against him was that he was not on a playoff team. I'm not calling out those who thinks that but that is pretty dumb. Why would we penalize MVP candidates who played on non-playoff teams? How is it their fault that their teammates were terrible or not good enough? I do not get that at all.

Another thing that people say that the reason he did not win MVP the last 2 years was because he did not have big home run and RBI's numbers. I find that not true at all. Yes, you can win the MVP without big numbers in those 2 categories. Ton of guys in the past like Ichiro, Jimmy Rollins, Pedroia, Kirk Gibson, etc, won the award without a lot of home runs and runs batted in. There are more to winning the MVP than just those two categories.

But congrats on Trout for winning the MVP for the first time!

I wonder why Mike Trout gets the MVP in a season where he actually was not the most valuable player and not in the two seasons prior where he actually was more valuable than Miguel Cabrera.

Because it would just sound wrong saying 22 year old 3 time MV Mike Trout doesnt have that intangable talent to win a ring.
