    :) well you are getting your money's worth for 5 points. Here goes for the 3 in 1 question

    <Where are current questions>

    On the top of the category page or homepage https://answers.yahoo.com/ then make sure that you use "Answer" rather than "Discover" (located just above the questions) and you'll get the latest questions ordered in chronological order.

    <..and why would I want to answer a question with best answer chosen?>

    Well some people just want to answer and don't mind answering questions with the Best Answer chosen, especially if that answer is incorrect and they feel they have a better one to contribute. You still get 2 points for answering. It just means you don't have a chance of getting the Best Answer.... but then so many questions don't get that awarded anyway that it's not really so different.

    " Is this site being closed"

    Highly unlikely. I've been here since 2007 and have been reading the doom 'n gloom "this site will be closed" questions the whole entire time I've been here...... and it's still going regardless. My feeling is that an organisation the size of Yahoo will not invest in a site if it's planning to close it. Yahoo Answers has gone under a number of upgrades in the last 1.5 sites and that's not indicative of a site that Yahoo goes on to close. Sites they have closed such as Y! Avatars, Y! Chat etc were not changed at all in the years preceeding closure. Y!A brings in traffic to Yahoo e.g. from the amount of Y!A content which comes up in hits on Google, Bing etc. Closing the site would be closing the trail for that traffic to follow which is never a smart business move.

    Yet another person who hasn't noticed that they have the Discover tab selected. Click on Answer at the top of the list to get the most recent questions first.

    Look for the "answer" option and avoid the "discover" option.
