Someone in a car going past you at the
speed of 28 m/s drops a small rock from a
height of 1.9 m.
How far from the point of the drop will the
rock hit the ground? The acceleration due to
gravity is 9.8 m/s^2.
A ball is thrown horizontally from the top of
a building 25.5 m high. The ball strikes the
ground at a point 111 m from the base of the
building.
The acceleration of gravity is 9.8 m/s^2.
Find the time the ball is in motion.
Find the initial velocity of the ball.
So I know I should do this on my own but I have no idea how. Will someone please help me out?

The rock is initially moving at 28m/s horizontally; its initial vertical velocity is zero.
It takes the same time for it to to reach the ground as an object released from rest falling also falling 1.9m. Calculate this time (t).
The horizontal speed remains 28m/s. So use distance = speed x time
d = 28t
to find horizontal distance.
Once you understand the first question, the 2nd is very similar.
