Classic is one type of cross country skiing. Skate/freestyle is the other. Both types have regular and racing skis. However, in general skate/freestyle is 2-3 times faster than classic, even before you consider using racing skis. If you are asking how much faster are racing skis than regular ones, it is quite a difference for both styles, especially over older regular skis. Racing skis are narrower and lighter. However, they are also a lot more expensive and less durable.
