The same reason democrats don't, Iran wants to be a independent nation, and our government wants iran to be economic slaves to the federal reserve.

The Republicans want to build Iran up into a huge threat to US security. They have always been about 'protecting' Americans against foreign threats, meaning that we spend more and more on 'defense' so we can terrorize any nation that won't play ball with us, sell us their resources cheap. If you look at presidential campaigns going back for decades, the Repubs are always saying that Dems are weak on defense, and if we elect a Dem president, Iran (or North Korea) is going to NUKE us.
If there was really peace around the world, Republicans wouldn't be able to scare people into voting for them! But a steady, long-time enemy in the Middle East justifies us keeping all our aircraft carriers there and threatening to invade anyone who disagrees with us.

Iran has the third largest oil reserves in the world, in fourth place funnily enough is Iraq, the last country the Republicans went to war against, for at the very least dubious reasons.
The Republicans saw no way to dictate to Iran, or Iraq, and so they turn them into the enemy to be hated and feared.
Don't forget Bush and his axis of evil, in his first State of the Union Address he said
"Iran aggressively pursues these weapons and exports terror, while an unelected few repress the Iranian people's hope for freedom. The United States of America will not permit the world's most dangerous regimes to threaten us with the world's most destructive weapons."
Well here we are twelve years later, and Iran has not involved itself in any aggressive military action although it has recently sent troops who are leading the ground offensive against Islamic State (ISIS) alongside Kurdish fighters.
While also currently in talks with US Secretary of State in the attempt to strike a nuclear accord. Something which would never have happened while the President of the US was referring to Iran as an axis of evil and terrorists..
Republicans are looking for an excuse and justification to invade Iran, just as they did in Iraq. They want to control the worlds oil supplies and if they cannot do it with money as in the case of Venezuela and Saudi Arabia, the number 1 and 2 in oil reserves then they are willing to do so by force.

Yes and after all the good faith they have shown... IRAQI IEDS CAME FROM MATERIALS SENT FROM IRAN. Reason enough... You can "deal" all you want but King Obama better VERIFY... treat Iran like he does REPUBLICANS.

Iran is like Obama, except they're more powerful than Obama. They lie and tell you one thing while crossing their collective fingers. Iran also thinks America is a paper tiger, and Obama always giving in, reinforces that impression.

Iran is their boogie man because they don't play ball with US oil companies.
Unlike Sunni Muslims - which ALL of the 911 bombers, Al Qaeda, Saddam, Bin Laden and ISIS are - who they love because they signed oil deals with Bush and Cheney big oil.

mostly because Iran is like "The (incompetent) One"..they seem to think that any "deal" means WE do exactly what THEY want us to do!
