So why did God create humans with free will if he knew in advance that he would have to punish so many for it in their death?

... if they did not believe? That's the question. I wouldn't mind knowing a true God and I tried for 13 years in a Protestant church but results were negative. In fact it actually resulted in my determining that it can't be the God of the bible at least. In fact the church I attended so long gently nudged me out for asking so many questions. So what's your answer. Why do you think I don't believe?

There is no god, be it a Bible god or some other god, so your question is beside the point.

Theology is probably the only academic subject for which there is no evidence of that which is allegedly being studied.

    Don't believe what?

I bet you believe some claims and not others.

It is unclear what claim you are referring to here.

It could be that you believe there is some creator god as described and you happen to be a masochist.

    Words are cheap.

Try to write with less ambiguity.

I don't think it is so much "believing in God" that matters, but more in respecting other people and treating them right. The Ten commandments, are about Respect. First, Respect God, do NOT have other gods before Him. An Atheist might not have a problem here, because he does not believe in ANY god, so there is no god before God. But those who DO believe in God, must choose God and not some false one in hope of getting instant benefits, such as Satan might furnish. As for Free Will, we humans have the ability to CHOOSE, and when we do choose, we do so with some intelligence, knowing the consequences of our choices. For instance, if we choose to walk outside in 20 below weather, without a coat, we will freeze. Our choice, knowing freezing will result, will cause us to die. But it is NOT God doing this, it is Us doing this. So when we choose to sin, we KNOW the consequences of committing the sin, and so we sin knowingly, which means we CHOOSE the consequence of that sin. And God, did not force us to do this. WE choose our punishment, NOT God. IF we do NOT want to suffer the consequences, we simply DO not sin. simple as that. As for Free Will, without it, we would NOT have the ability to choose, as humans, and so we would be at the mercy of Satan, who could then make us do anything he wanted. And God, could also make us believe, and not have any choice in it. We would be like robots, with no choices in anything. God COULD make us do all things HIS way, but then, why bother having humans at all? He made us so that we could be different from other beings, and have the ability to make our own way in Life, choosing our path we want to walk on and also choosing the consequences of that path. It is OUR choice and not that of God.

You realize how little sense your question makes right? How can someone have free will if they are predestined to do something. God did not know that we would sin, hence the fact why he didn't stop it. It's a down fall to our own free will that no one knows what we will do. That's why we must make the right decisions.

God did not know in advance that humans would sin, He does have the ability to know but does not look into our future and so unfairly prejudge us. God does not punish people. ...read James 1:13. He does discipline those whom he loves, just as a parent does, his children when they are disobedient.

The hellfire theory is not Biblical. It teaches that God is cruel and has turned millions of people against the Almighty. Jehovah God is not cruel and James 1:13 shows us this. Jehovah is a God of love and mercy and is forgiving when we are sincerely repentant.

Seeking God from men is not exactly the brightest thing to do, is it?

You tried for 13 years and have failed to apprehend that God saves sinners from their sin? To deliberately misrepresent Him indicates a malicious motive. No wonder you cannot find Him.

You don't understand that the punishment is being estranged from God , show me a biblical verse that says you will go to hell , hell is a construct of our own making and the suffering is our own too . To get to coexist with God is the theist goal

The other option would be to create a bunch of mindless robots with no emotion and no independent thought. What would be the point in that?
