What direction is the moon in the sky at night, mid Atlantic, in December?

If I am traveling aboard a ship going west in the mid Atlantic, where would the moon be in the sky? Off the bow starboard or off the port? Or ditto off the stern?

If you're north of the equator, it'll to port; if you're south of the equator, to starboard.

It depends on the time of night and the date. The Moon rises in the east and sets in the west every 24 hours and 50 minutes. Moonrise and moonset are 50 minutes later each night. If you are in the north Atlantic, the Moon will be to your south at its highest.
