2001 Olds Alero. Is it okay to keep the traction control turned on all the time?

It's 'on' by default and yes it's okay to leave it on at all times when driving. The system doesn't engage unless it senses a loss in traction and you want the system to be 'on' so that it can sense a loss of traction if/when there is one and adjust accordingly.

The only time it makes sense to turn it off would be if you are stuck in the snow etc., and need the tires to spin to free the car. The traction control system being on will prevent the tires from spinning in that scenario. Under all other normal driving conditions it is best to leave it on.

Hi it should be turned on all the time so you don't end up drifting all over the place.
