In Christian theology God gave us fee will knowing we would sin. Therefor he came to us in the form of Jesus to preach love and show God's true loving forgiving nature. Then he allowed himself to be killed because having giving is free will to sin paid for those sins himself. His resurrection was necessary to overcome death. Simple huh? I am not saying the resurrection is factual history. It is Christian theology and it works for them. And it gives us something to shoot for if we wish to also be resurrected to be with God.

The kingdom of heaven is not proven but was assured. The resurrection was a reinforcement to that assurance that death a transition of the soul, not the end.

it wasn't and given the cosmological nature of so much of what jesus said (metaphor) he may not have even existed in the first place.
but my question is why was jesus necessary in the first place?
why would the god of creation - a guy who created several hundred billion galaxies in six days - need a human son in any circumstance?
a being capable of that would certainly be able to directly talk to people if he wanted or needed - so why were prophets needed?
and why would such a being require anyone to worship him?
it's all just quite silly in my opinion...

It was necessary for Christians to resurrect their messiah because he hasn't yet fulfilled the entire messianic myth stolen from the Jews. If the Christian messiah fails to fulfill the entire myth then he cannot be the messiah and Christianity falls as a false religion based on nothing but lies.

Hey Pete, I'm gonna send Reverend Moon to hell because he's a FALSE PROPHET. (Revelation 20 v. 10).

It was a necessary story to win converts to the religion his followers were selling. Same with other supposed miracles.

It wasn't necessary - I suspect those who don't follow won't be resurrected.

Basically, it was proof of everlasting life. Does it need to be more than that?

Because it proved He had died sinless, for death can only claim sinners. As Jesus had allowed Himself to be put to death even though He had never sinned, He HAD to be resurrected.
Because it proved Him to be the Son of God, as He claimed to be. Read Romans 1:1-6.
Because this was God's ordained way for Christ to defeat sin, death and the devil.
Because it was the fulfillment of many prophecies in the Bible and the time for fulfilling them came when the Son of God incarnated as the man, Jesus. It was all according to plan. And God's plans always get carried out, just at the right time.

It Shows victory over the enemy.
Death is the result of sin.. and through Christ we are able to overcome and rise to be with God for all of eternity.
