My dog won't eat?

My six year old maltipoo has not are any of her food for I'm not sure how long. She usually eats wet food I get her but I've been feeding her dry food because I want her to start eating that and she just won't eat it. She doesn't seem sick or anything she just seems to not want dry food. Should I go back to giving her wet food or wait til she finally eats the dry food?

I don't know if it is the best way or not, but the way I got 2 switched from wet to dry was to mix it. About 3/4 wet & 1/4 dry to start, more dry over 2 weeks till it was all dry. That worked for me.

Make sure the bowl is clean, try feeding it from a different bowl or call the son and ask him if he was having the same problem. Could be the dog just misses the owners and knows something is out of routine. In any event, when the owners come home be sure to tell then how the dog was acting just in case they think it should be seen by a vet and the next time the ask you to feed the dogs, politely say no because of the problem you had this time caused you to worry over it.

No such thing as a 'maltipoo' it is a Maltese/poodle mix. Giving this dog a 'cutsie' name only encourages unethical BYBing.

Leave her dry food out. If not eaten within 5 mins, remove the food.

Offer again in 2 hrs. Again, if not eaten/finished remove the food and offer again in two hours.

    NO treats whatsoever between meals.

No healthy dog will starve itself.

Toughen up, and you dog will start eating.
