I don't know if Seventh Day Adventists are like that or not. All I know is that my religion, JW, is not like that. There may be some individual ones who don't show manners, but my religion as a whole practices tact and shows kindness. We (as a whole) know not to start in on someone about their religion, even though we may not agree with it. Yes, at some point, we may give our reasons for disagreeing with Catholicism, but we try to "season our words with salt" and would never say to a Catholic: "Your religion is the whore of Babylon." How rude would that be? Of course, some who know that we disagree with their beliefs may find this offensive, but they really shouldn't get too hung up on a person's private thoughts and beliefs. The important thing is to communicate and express where you are coming from, why you feel as you do. Sometimes people have valid reasons for believing as they do, other times not.
You are not alone about feeling your religion is targeted. I am a Jehovah's Witness. Need I say more? I suffer constant judgments and nagging from others, that I don't think as they do. My people have been beaten up by some of other religions for our beliefs. Even imprisoned, and sent to concentration camps.
If you think that SDA hate your religion, here is what you should do. Kill them with kindness. Don't even let them bother you, as long as they are not dissing your religion to you. I am trying to think of the scripture but there is one that is similar to the saying "kill people with kindness." There was a lady at work who was giving me a hard time once. The next day when I saw her, I smiled and said hi. I tried did this over and over and before you know it, she liked me.
Also there was a co-worker of a JW who gave her trouble. She tried to be nice to the woman and before you know it, the lady was studying the Bible with the JW.
I just thought of the scripture. Romans 12:20.

A Independent Fundamental Baptist Fundamentalist Protestant who believes and says all sorts of nasty slanders about Catholics( Whore of babylon, going to Hell, pagans, not Chrstians, vile or deluded dupes of Anti- Christ, etc) gave blood of a rare type for a Catholic who needed a blood transfusion

I am an atheist who volunteers with a local youth organization down at a local church. Does that count if I am doing nice things for a group that regularly calls me "immoral" due to my unspiritual nature?
PS - I don't stereotype people so I don't label entire groups of people based on my experiences with a few.
