Canthe mirena cause depression? (read details)?
I got off of the birth control pill because it made me moody and it also made me gain weight. I was in an abusive relationship and very unhappy when I got the mirena put in so depression wouldn't be noticed as I already had it. Being out of that relationship now and with an amazing man I still feel depressed... Could my mirena be causing this even though I got it put in almost a year ago?

Well, yes but you could also be depressed just from life. Even though you're with a good person now that doesn't mean the abuse will not affect you possible for your whole life.
ALL birth control can cause depression and mood swings. Mirena is no exception.
I'd suggest you go to some form of counselling because you'll need it to get over the abuse anyway, and if that's no help at all then consider that hormonal birth control may not be for you.
