JW's, are you ignoring the instructions of the Watchtower when you post questions and answers here?

Because of listening to the Devil and not rejecting his lies, the first human pair apostatized. So, then, should we listen to apostates, read their literature, or examine their Web sites on the Internet? If we love God and the truth, we will not do so. We should not allow apostates into our homes or even greet them, for such actions would make us ‘sharers in their wicked works. May we never succumb to the Devil’s wiles by abandoning the Christian “path of truth” to follow false teachers who seek to “introduce ruinous ideologies” and try to ‘exploit us with well-turned phrases.

This is an open forum for all like the Town square for for the Apostle Paul.

They are breaking no rules by coming here. They are just trying to reach people everywhere with their beliefs. As did Jesus who spoke openly as well as going to people's homes.

As long as you present a question even if you know the answer and want to open discussion you are allowed to here.

Actual I like to hear some of what they ask and say. Their motives are good. UNLIKE Some questions of others I may answer where you can see their motives of hate are beyond even normal haters of some

This is a matter that I have discussed with an elder in my congregation. The official stance is that "There is no need for [Jehovah's Witnesses] to participate in online forums, but the choice to do so rests with the individual. We [the GB] do not and cannot make rules about such things, but warn against the potential for unwittingly engaging in online discussions with apostates, who often frequent such sites."

So, no, there are no "instructions."

Also, the quote you make refers to apostate "Web sites on the Internet," does it not?

I, for one, don't see y!a that way, unlike some of the anti-JW websites that answerers sometimes refer forum members to, where I am sure you will find nothing positive is said about JWs, only negatives, with little regard as to whether what is said is true, or not.

So why would a JW bother going there?

Open forum meaning they have to accept other non-jw answers and they are subject to the guidelines and rules. Yahoo is not run by the Watchtower.

Instructions come from the Bible ~not the "Watchtower." Answering and asking doesn't not violate any Bible principle. We preach under the same circumstances when we go door to door.

Interestingly, Jesus was also accused and scorned by the wicked Religious leaders and people of His time. I will end with Jesus response to them at Matthew 11: 19 "The Son of man [Jesus] did come eating and drinking, but people say, ‘Look! A man who is a glutton and is given to drinking wine, a friend of tax collectors and sinners.’ All the same, wisdom is proved righteous by its works.”
