Why doesn't Yahoo! Answers suspend folks' account for sexually explicit content and harassment anymore?

I agree with All that have responded thus far - Yahoo Answers seems to have 'closed off' caring what We report - something We 'supposedly' signed up to do ( when We found it ). I had a personal contact at the YAT that appreciated My effort in reporting the death/terror threat trolls as well as the sexual predators. Not a word since Thanksgiving from them - IMHO - I think there is No longer a team. Willing to bet it's All just CC from a 3rd world country. Before anybody calls me racist - it's the Only thing that makes sense.

The YAT has Never had backing by the CC, it's why repeat offenders & obscene behavior get reinstated.

Right now said users are just making new accounts as All that's happening is a sort of 'freeze' - No more suspensions No matter how threatening the account is.

I've been an avid reporter of ToS since joining. Never had a problem dropping underagers or pornography. None are dropping as of late - even with help from other 'top reporters.'

So until We start hearing from the YAT again, If Ever - I'm No longer going to 'war torn' sections of the site and teaching users how to report. I did it in the Food section & even though Many of those users helped report, They too are getting Nowhere! If users like myself & anon can't take down L1's anymore - it's a fallacy to believe newbie reporters will make a dent either.

Because you are not the customer. The advertiser is. They have no obligation or need to answer anyone's emails.

At the end of the day, the only thing that matters is the clicks of users. To the top executives of yahoo, you mean nothing. I mean nothing and neither does anyone else. By participating on the site you are doing service to get them ads. That's the main role of the users. Keep doing that job

It's apathy. I guess yahoo just doesn't care anymore.

Pretty much everything anon said is true. I live to report people and getting their accounts suspended but yahoo doesn't care anymore so emails I've sent fall on deaf ears.

Guess yahoo answers want to go the way of Google answers.

There should be freely cussing and name calling by anyone and by any words. This is what the internet is about.

If I wanted to stay anonymous and cuss you out and call you stupid, the internet should be the one place where anyone can do that. That is the whole reason the internet is anonymous. If I were looking at you face to face, I would never be able to call you stupid or be rude. But, the internet is not face to face. It is keyboard to screen. Anyone should learn to understand this medium. It is the perfect and the only place where anything goes. There is no other place like it on earth and none of you idiots should try to change that. I think that the way that they suspend peoples accounts is arbitrary and I also don't like that you can get your account suspended for saying something that someone does not like, and yet I have had people make obscene comments and reported them and they did nothing.

There is no policy change. Adult content and harassment are still not allowed. What has changed is that Y!AT rarely answers emails anymore. I used to email them a dozen times a week or more with serious issues and they responded to 99% of my emails, suspending hundreds of accounts. As of about five months ago, they respond to about 1% of my emails, and now none. Others have had the same sudden and dramatic loss of correspondence with staff.

As for the sudden drop in ability to delete what we report - that is another problem YA is ignoring as many of us have written to Y!AT to ask them to put Community Moderation back to what it was. I used to delete almost 100% of what I reported, now I only drop between 50 and 70 percent. And it's not because of bad reporting. My reports are as accurate as always. Many others are having this problem as well. Most disturbing is Level 1 accounts are most immune to deletions so I have failed to drop a lot of porn as have others.

By the way, your "answer" is a violation for non-answer as it is misuse of the answer box to use it for anything other than posting an answer, and for user call out. Don't post links to others' posts, saying they are in violation.

About your comment: The TDs are from those who don't like to follow the rules and feel persecuted when reported. I have stated I report and even though I said I report porn, that makes me some kind of evil entity. Yes, terrible thing to report porn. Also, because I mentioned your misuse of the answer box and posting the link. I only said that to let you know, and did so as politely as possible.
