This is the global economy for you! Berries can apparently be grown and transported from China and Chile cheaper than they can from within Australia. There are now a lot of people saying they will only buy Australian produce.

free trade has NOTHING to do with it
for years I have been saying don't eat anything from china and now finally the media and the health issues have come to realise it... the pollution the lack of hygeine the supporting of a corrupt communist regime it is not surprising that the hep A is now being talked about
if people here actually saw what was going on over there they would get a huge wake up ... funny how in our country we can grow anything and we have strong healthy hygeine environmental laws and good wages but people prefer to save a few dollars and risk their health buying food grown in third world countries... personally I can not understand it

Kind of but we all should know by now that Chinese stuff are tasteless and useless and yet we never learn. China is utter a polluted country. The government here should STOP the free trade with them and rely more on the Japs.

We never buy any foodstuff that is grown overseas, only local. Not even American fruit,(but that is not because of health reasons). We would rather support local growers/produces.

Free trade is NOT the cause, filthy conditions are. Would you put something in your mouth that has been sitting in ****!

No, free trade is not responsible. It is our law makers and our labelling food laws or lack of it.
