When you doze off...?

and suddenly wake with a start, did your body sense it was about to die or is your body aware that you're not supposed to be sleeping at the time?

    Has nothing to do with dying. Your body is reacting to changes, such as your head nodding, your own snoring, and yes, even your subconscious nudging you to wake up because you are not supposed to be asleep.
