Great Red Spot?

How does Jupiter's Great Red Spot process chemicals to gain itself energy? What does it do with that energy?

    I'm not sure it processes anything; it's a long-lived storm in between it's wind bands, behaving much like a hurricane on Earth.

    Your question is sound...I just don't like it because it reminds me of how schools still are 50yrs in the past,,,still talking about the red spot when there is much better stuff.....
