Anyone see the Afolabi-Ramirez fight tonight?
I'm probably the only person staying home on Friday and watching a stream from Argentina.
But HOLY F*CK, this fight was great. Frontrunner for FOTY at this point.
Ola Afolabi is one of my favorite fighters, and I rarely bet against my favorite fighters. But I watched tape on this dude Ramirez, and he's a good fighter. Ola's odds were too steep, and also, the fight was in his backyard of Argentina (which has always been a sketchy fight town IMO).
So I bet against my boy. He lost, but it was bittersweet b/c I made money AND the fight was a violent, must watch affair.
Once I find a link for it, I'm posting it on here, and ALL of you should watch it.
PS: Both Afolabi and Ramirez would destroy Yoan Pablo Hernandez. I'm just sad Ola didn't get his chance to.

I didn't watch it live, but I've watched it this morning. Afolabi is frustrating. He takes so long to get his shots off when he is in close, like in the second round where Ramirez was coming on strong, used up all his energy, so Afolabi decided to bob and weave, making Ramirez miss, while not throwing any shots back.
Afolabi didn't use his height and reach advantage as well as he should have. He's got a great jab, but was only using it in the second half of the fight. Every round when he used is jab and stayed on the outside he won. Every round where he got drawn in and went toe to toe he lost. Like the 9th round, Afolabi kept is long, used his jab well and won the round, then in the 10th, he comes out and goes toe to toe straight away. I'm thinking, WHAT ARE YOU DOING!!!
That "low blow" in the 11th wasn't below the belt, and Ramirez milked it for all it was worth. Good fight, and the right outcome
How did you score it?

Damn, I missed the fight Stick. I'll make sure to see the link when you post it. Also, the Garcia-Peterson fight caught my attention. I might just watch all the fights since I have time.

Most schools frown on it because of insurance costs. Too great a chance of injuries and liability claims.
