I have a question on the Bible. Just a 'where' question?
Where in the NT was jesus saying "Render unto Caesar"? Or, so I don't have to interpret it, what was he talking about?

Mark 12:17 And Jesus answering said unto them, Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's. And they marvelled at him."
He is saying that it is not against the Jewish faith to pay taxes to the Romans. That they can give their money to Caesar, but need to give obedience to God.

Matthew 22:21
"They said: "Caesar's." Then he said to them:"Pay back, therefore, Caesar's things to Caesar's, but God's things to God."
What does Jesus mean by that?
Romans 13:7
"Render to all their dues: to the one who calls for the tax, the tax; to the one who calls for the tribute, the tribute; to the one who calls for fear, such fear; to the one who calls for honor, honor.
Respect authority. Follow the laws and rules of the government in subjection with God.

Mark 12:17
Really easy to find actually. All you have to do is put your quote into search and voila up comes the scripture, which I just did.
It means that christians should pay taxes and be upright when it comes to the laws of the land. But anything that contravenes God, then we make a stand for our Creator.

Mathew 22:17 Tell us, then, what do you think? Is it lawful to pay head tax to Caesar or not?” 18 But Jesus, knowing their wickedness, said: “Why do you put me to the test, hypocrites? 19 Show me the tax coin.” They brought him a de·narʹi·us. 20 He said to them: “Whose image and inscription is this?” 21 They said: “Caesar’s.” Then he said to them: “Pay back, therefore, Caesar’s things to Caesar, but God’s things to God.”
They were to pay to gov what belonged to them such as taxes. But pay God's things to God. If ask to do anything by the gov that would go against God then you have to choose God even at the risk of jail.

Jesus was powerless against the pagan Romans. Jesus made many nasty comments about Jews, but he was scared of the Romans and didn't want to do anything to offend them. If he had he would have been crucified quicker than he was.

When Jesus was asked whether it was lawful to give tribute unto Caesar, or not (Mark 12:14), you may recall that he asked to see a coin, then asked whose image and inscription was on it. Upon hearing them say that it was Caesar’s, he said, “Render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and unto God the things that are God’s.” Mark 12:17, ASV
Governments make laws about paying taxes and they draft soldiers to fight for them and being under the government, you must render to them what their laws require of you. God also requires you to give Him what
He has provided to you and has told you to give and do.

Matthew 22:21. Asking whose image was on the denarius, they replied Caesar's. Jesus then said Give to Caesar what belongs to him and give to God what is God's. I believe the unasked question is whose image is on you & I.

The Pharisees sent their disciples with the Herodians, a party among the Jews, who were for full subjection to the Roman emperor. Though opposed to each other, they joined against Christ. What they said of Christ was right; whether they knew it or not, blessed be God we know it. Jesus Christ was a faithful Teacher, and a bold reprover. Christ saw their wickedness. Whatever mask the hypocrite puts on, our Lord Jesus sees through it. Christ did not interpose as a judge in matters of this nature, for his kingdom is not of this world, but he enjoins peaceable subjection to the powers that be. His adversaries were reproved, and his disciples were taught that the Christian religion is no enemy to civil government. Christ is, and will be, the wonder, not only of his friends, but of his enemies. They admire his wisdom, but will not be guided by it; his power, but will not submit to it.

Luke 20:21 Then they asked Him, saying, “Teacher, we know that You say and teach rightly, and You do not show personal favoritism, but teach the way of God in truth: 22 Is it lawful for us to pay taxes to Caesar or not?”
23 But He perceived their craftiness, and said to them, “Why do you test Me?[d] 24 Show Me a denarius. Whose image and inscription does it have?”
They answered and said, “Caesar’s.”
25 And He said to them, “Render therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.”
26 But they could not catch Him in His words in the presence of the people. And they marveled at His answer and kept silent.
They were trying to trap Jesus, but He knew what they were doing
Money belongs to the government, HONOR belongs to God...they had none
