What is the theological rationale for the human soul?

The body and soul are two different things -- the body is there to keep the soul alive -- that soul lives in the brain -- the brain is a living computer that does millions of calculations every second of our lives -- Our brain has a Pro Logic program as its Operating System OS -- that can crash and gets a virus that make that person do evil things -- when a doctor says -- a person is brain dead -- they can -- pull the plug on the machines keeping the body alive -- and when ever you shutdown your computer you are seeing what death is

Jesus spoke that all people perish at death, except for those who earned their citizenship of God's kingdom. The concept of soul is that it never dies. The concept of soul does not match with the teaching of Jesus.

Rationale? It is, and there's no rationale needed.
