Will vinyl records become the dominant audio format again?

I ask this because I don't want to buy records, I prefer smaller media, I don't have room for records, and I listen to audio books on CD. I also want nothing to do with old technologies.

For some people, LPs never stopped being the dominant technology. If you want nothing to do with old technology, you are going to have a hard time functioning. A car for instance - invented in the late 19th century. The basic concept has not changed. I can think of thousands of other examples but space prohibits.

But no, they won't. They are a passing fad for most people - a novelty. The people who never stopped listening to LPs have ears good enough to hear the superiority of LP sound quality. But convenience usually wins and people with ears good enough (and equipment good enough) to hear the difference between an LP and an MP3 are not common.

Physical music sales have been down for years. Everyone uses iPods and smartphones to listen to music. The chance of something like vinyl becoming dominant again are slim to none, but vinyl will probably never die out because there's a very dedicated user base who demands it.

When the so called "artists" make art people will buy them again. One good song on a record is failing. If someone can write a good record (without 100 people's help), then I want to hear their album. The artwork involved needs to be 12x12", not some digital facsimile.

Ten times, same question, in 120 days. You have a serious compulsion here. kid. I am a full-time multi-degreed, multi-decade experienced music professional in NY - since 1973. The answer - always, forever - is NOOOO. Stop asking already. For some how says they c value SPACE so much - you sure are wasting it here.

Why don't you just buy what you like, and not worry about what you think is popular.

I like vinyl, you like CD's, why is that a problem for you.
