Would using the backboard help players who struggle at the free throw line?

Players like Dwight Howard, DeAndre Jordan, and Josh Smith. Would trying to bank it in make any difference?

    No.

Just skill up your free throws. It'll make you a better player regardless.

All those players you named are garbage at free throws. And pray they get a swish.

    Its all muscle memory.

    Good luck.

I find banking the shot to be harder than just going for all net. Banking requires a certain touch and finesse that I don't think those players have. They just gotta keep practicing...

Not really. You have to have a soft shooting touch in order to bank in a free throw

Good point. I really don't know why they don't use it.
