The point of the U.N. is to give high paying cushy jobs to the children of the global 1%, at the expense of the global taxpayer, but mostly the American taxpayer.

There is no other point to the UN, which is corrupt and ineffective in its entirety, to a point far beyond ridicule.

The U.N. had one good moment when Ghaddafi gave that 14 hour speech, which gave good material for comedians for years, but it will be decades before another such moment comes around again, and it seems the benefit doesn't justify the huge expense.

The world would be much better without the U.N.

Everyone is entitled to his/her opinion or view. This, what you stated is the American view.

If you are talking of money, please be rest assured. Contributions to UN are based on the country's GDP (once Donald Trump paid on behalf of America when America baulked). In the near future, others will take away the American financial burden from it. Probably its clout will also follow that from the front door.

Nice try. But the US, Israel and the Saudis only protect themselves. Also, it would be nice if the US didn't have to pay most of the UN budget.

Because the U.N. agencies do humanitarian work, feeding and sheltering people in conflict areas and areas of extreme poverty and difficulty.
