How much of a cut does Ebay get when I sell an item?
Say I sell an item on Ebay, and it sold for exactly $95. How much does Ebay take away from that?

As others say, the exact fee depends on the item.
For small general items, typically 10% of the selling price.
There is also the original "listing fee" when you put the item on sale.
When someone pays by paypal, that take 2 - 3% of the payment.
For that item, you would probably end up with $82 - $83 in your paypal account after paying all fees.
(You would initially get more like $92 - $93. The ebay bill turns up sometime after the sale but can be paid from your paypal account).
The fees are far lower than any "physical" auction house charges and you tend to get a bit better price anyway on ebay, assuming you described the item well & in the proper category.

It really depends what you sell, cause different category's draw different percentages or amounts of the total sold.
