Should I Award a 2nd Best Answer?
So i Asked a Question and chose a Best Answer...
the Best Answer was Awesome and very much within the CG and ToS.
someone reported and deleted the chosen BA...
now i am given the option to Award Best Answer to one of the remaining Answers...
i am very confident the Answer Will be Reinstated...
in the meantime, (while i have the chance) should i choose a 2nd Best Answer?
Yes, the Blue "Award Best Answer" buttons are back on all the remaining Answers...
this is how glitches get started
Welcome Back Whizzz....
- so i chose BA
- no more Update Question option
case is closed...right?
- BA got reported
- Blue Award BA button shows up again
- Answer chosen as BA gets re-instated
- ahh but the Blue Award BA button is still up
- i can now Update Question again
what to do....what to do..i didnt keep track of the statistics, but i am going to guess BA gets 2 BA for this 1 Answer.

You can BUT the reported answer may win on appeal and that can be confusing but interesting as have never seen that happen so would be interesting to see how that is dealt with..
You see Award best Answer on other answers now which makes it a tough choice.
Reported answers have 7 days to appeal so it might / probably will be won on appeal.
You can wait or choose it is up to you but in fairness to your first choice as best answer waiting will not hurt as there
isn't a time limit to do that..

You don't ask a lot of questions, so if the one you're referring to is the recent question about whether deleting your own answers could be considered pointgaming -- ? I'd say please DO pick a 2nd Best Answer! (I'm curious what will happen, too).
I'm certain the user to whom you'd given the original BA would not be offended since she knows that responses to appeals can take anywhere from minutes to never and that the original BA having been reported/deleted is no good reason for your question to be left unresolved -- it's your choice to resolve your question if another answer deserves a Best Answer (and clearly, it does) -- CC is not trustworthy or reliable (my opinion) and there's no good reason for you to wait around to find out their decision (which might be right, or might not, who knows?)

Why would you choose a different answer if you think there's even a chance the other one will be put back?
I can imagine how the reported person must feel.. reported and someone else gets best answer.. and then answer reinstated.... too late.
I really dislike it when my answers are reinstated after it's too late to really matter.
