Pride is a spirit. A human being during his/her lifetime is living with many spirits which have joined one by one since birth. Certain situations and circumstances causes the possession of certain type of spirits. Some spirits quit immediately, some little late and some never quits so easily. All knowledge, skills, emotions, feelings, interests and everything are spirits. Even thoughts are not your own. When you want to take a decision on a subject, one after another they think and you just listen and choose or reject the ideas which they transmit to your mind through your brain in the form of thoughts. Human beings are just unprogrammed robots made of flesh, bones, tissues etc., by birth and toys of the spirits for their games.

Pride is primarily an emotion and emotions don't require thinking...at least not the thinking where one talks to themselves in their head.

It is nothing more than a thought. You yourself are really nothing more than a collection of thoughts.
