Can someone explain ssd's for me?
I want to put an ssd in a ps4 and it'd have to be 1 tb minimum, preferably 2 tb. I'm not interested in a hybrid. I understand there are different speeds of ssd's. Are the speeds noticeable? I see 1tb ssd's for around $400 and then 2tbs for $3000? I want reliability and speed. This ps4 will be given away in a raffle so I don't want a junk one. What should I get?

A. 1tb SSD? That is crazy expensive.
B. Think of an SSD as a gigantic flash drive.
C. NEVER change any parts in a gaming console. That is always a bad idea because the firmware on the motherboard is optimized for the firmware on the hard drive and other components (such as the GPU). If you mess with one thing, it could kill the system. So unless the SSD comes from Sony, forget it.

An ssd will run much faster than a regular hdd. There are no mechanical parts moving for it to read so the data is streamlined right to the processor.
