What would happen if we brought back 1875 when EVERYONE had a gun on their hip?

That is a fantasy you picked up from the movies.

IN 1875 the majority of the population did not carry guns.

Nothing, nothing because gun violence is generated by a very small minority of people. The hard working and responsible Americans would still get up and go to work every day and those that are so inclined to commit gun crimes would just have to think twice before committing a crime because now those that were unable protect themselves before would be able to protect themselves.

try learning some honest history.... even in the "old west" the "ordinary" citizen just did not go around carrying a "big iron" on his hip..... they cost to much to start... and were not good for hunting or defending the livestock against predators... most had a shot gun... some had rifles... but you have seen too much hollywood... and not enough of true history

not the civilized East, or larger town in the West.

You checked you gun at the sheriffs office when you can to town,

or you were arrested for wearing it..

You'll probably find out by 2030 when everybody will have a pistol on their side at the rate states are adopting the right to carry. Then it will be the shoot out at the US corral.

No problem, but America failed to grow as a mature nation past that date.

They were mostly back shooters and you had to put them with local sheriff in many civilized cities.

Then we'd have unicorns and other imaginary things that never existed except in the movies.
