Is it immoral to not go to war when your country thinks it's necessary?

Should you protect your country when the majority of your country believes that war must be done, while you think otherwise?

Ask any Viet Nam Vet that question. It matters not what You choose; it is the loyalty that you have for what your Country stands for. We will fight for the, relative, freedom of any oppressed people; be it Domestic or Foreign.

The USA has never invaded another country. The US has always taken the defensive; and, has only lost One, non declared war. We had to pull out when we were not getting enough support of the people, in Viet Nam or at Home.

We went through just as much Hell, and maybe more, than any other conflict; yet, we had to sneak back into the country, and make sure that we were not wearing our uniforms. There was no parade, no hoopla. no thank yous, until 20 some odd years later.

So...it doesn't matter what you think; or, how you feel about anything; it is your loyalty to your Society, and what you are willing too do for your Country.

Otherwise, learn how to speak French and go North.

    Of course not.

It is NOT immoral to use one's own mind to come to one's own conclusions. It's is NOT immoral to refuse to murder people.

If you had a mind of your own, you'd understand that it's possible for a majority of people to be wrong about something.

To think an outside institution such as a church or a nation can define your morality is immoral. It is called laziness.

Your question and the second question below have completely different meanings. Your first question does not suggest that your country is threatened. The second does.

your country? what country? no 'country' decides that...

If your country is in danger then you have a moral obligation to do what you can to protect it. That is if it is not the aggressor.
