Am I stupid for trying to be honest about my car when selling it?
I've been told my whole life that honesty is the best policy. So I made a list of all the GOOD and BAD things wrong with the car.
It's been up for sale for a few weeks now and I've only got 2 calls? Should I just accentuate the good and not tell anybody the bad stuff and lie?
I never had anybody be honest with me when I buy cars and it makes me mad. I thought I could set a good example... I need to sell it, but I feel bad lying to others. They worked hard for their money, and I know I get mad when I spent a lot of money and feel ripped off later... you know?

People might suspect that you're hiding something major and throwing them off with minor flaws. People also tend to overvalue their property, so make sure your price is in line with the value (allowing for them to talk you down some). You can also only list major flaws, but make sure to mention the minor ones before the person buys it, that way you're still being honest about it before any cash changes hands. If they start to like the car first, they might overlook some of the issues - sure you're manipulating them a little this way, but you're not lying to them. If there's something that can be fixed very cheap and well at the same time, you can do that first.
How are you advertising it?
And no, most people aren't completely honest while selling a car, because that's easier.

I know exactly what you are talking about i was in the same situation as you some times you could lie if you have to but who say's you have to mention the "bad" about the car? How many time i purchased used things all of them either did not mention something on purpose or they lie about "No problem with it at all".

I think you're probably just always stupid so this situation doesn't make much of a difference.
