can you help me make sense of this shipping tracker?
https://tools.usps.com/go/TrackConfirmAction_input...
the departure point is Los Angeles, California,, USA and the destination is Nova Scotia, Canada, the package goes to Louisville, Kentucky, then Montreal, Quebec, Canada, then to Memphis, Tennessee(back to the US?), then back to Louisviille Kentucky again....if it actually did all this in a day, I'm impressed with the speed, but not with the fact that the package was in Canada and sent back to the US for some reason.....can someone help me make sense of all this since it seems very ridiculous to send a package back to the US that has arrived in the receiving country, making me, the receiver wait so much longer.
by the way, this isn't the first time this has happened, this is just when I've gotten curious enough to ask about this. it must have happened to every package I get from the US.

what doesn't make sense is this:
June 26, 2015 , 8:11 am Departed Memphis, UNITED STATES
June 26, 2015 , 7:48 am Departed Montreal, CANADA
I assume the times are local times. Memphis is in central time zone, Montreal is in eastern time zone.
If we adjust the Memphis time to eastern, we have leaving Montreal at 7:48, then leaving Memphis at 9:11, or 1 hour 23 minutes later. A flight might be able to get from Montreal to Memphis in that time (but I might guess a bit longer), but that doesn't leave any time for processing. It would have to immediately depart Memphis, which is beyond belief. Remember, we're talking postal service.

Data entry error. The package never left the US. Someone at the Louisville airport facility must have entered the airport code for Montreal (where it will probably go before it's sent on to Nova Scotia). This may or may not have slowed processing down by a few hours at worst.

There are errors. Can't be in Louisville, Montreal and Memphis within 2 hours and 15 minutes. Surely on it's way and probably in Canada now. Tracking is free and you can't expect it to be perfect.
