How do you know that the bible is correct ?

If you join or remain in any club, you obey the rules. There's no point joining a golf club if you want to play football. There's no point joining or remaining in a religion if you don't accept its basic tenets.

I am a member of the religion based upon the life and teaching of Jesus Christ as set out in the Gospels and handed down through the traditions of the Church he founded. The collection of literature we know as the Bible was assembled gradually during the early days of the Church when it became clear that the people who had actually witnessed the life of Jesus were likely to die out before his return. It contains written accounts of the life of Jesus, some letters to the early Church and an apocalyptic cryptogram which made the final cut because people enjoyed working out the puzzles. There was also a great body of Hebrew literature which had conveniently been translated into Greek a few centuries earlier. Around the 3rd century, someone had the bright idea of binding the whole lot into a single volume instead of separate scrolls of parchment. The result gave us what we now call books. Bible is simply the Latin word for a book.

The Bible can give us a great deal of insight into the teaching and theology of the early Church. There is an American sect that seems to think you can divine the will of God by picking bits at random (especially the bits about giving away your money) but they represent a tiny fraction of the worldwide followers of Jesus Christ.

We know the bible is correct through studying it. Throughout the bible, we see bible prophecies that were fulfilled, and some that are being fulfilled today. An example of a prophecy being fulfilled is Matthew 24:7,"For nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be food shortages and earthquakes in one place after another." We see throughout the world severe earthquakes, as well as food shortages. We also have ongoing war. This is just one of the prophecies being fulfilled, and there are some that are going to be fulfilled. We can see that the bible really proves itself correct.

Because if there wasn't something to it, Swedenborg couldn't have made so much sense of everything with the internal sense. Plus, following/loving Jesus causes miracles in your life.

The Old Testament is not literally true; it's symbolic. Swedenborg explained the inner meaning of Genesis and Exodus in Arcana Coelestia - 12 volumes. Evolution is true; the days of creation in Genesis correspond to phases of our own spiritual development. The literal meaning only clothes and gives form to the inner truths that we couldn't take in otherwise. That's why the literal meaning corresponds to clouds.

He wrote in great detail of his visions of the spiritual world and conversations with spirits (in his famous book Heaven and Hell). He had visions for 30 years. He was a very respected scientist, and his visions changed his whole focus. His books make sense throughout. He correctly predicted the exact time of his death, as well as other events from the spiritual world. His IQ was over 200 on the Turman scale, on which 150 is genius level.

My discovery of the clean and unclean food and hygiene laws established over 3500 years ago in the Book of Leviticus being based all this time on someone's working knowledge of the germ theory of disease and the modern human body and other advanced fields of science unknown to mankind at that time now proves the existence of a Intelligent Designer that knew these fields of science long before mankind learned of them. This discovery also proves this part of The Bible just as correct today as the day Yahweh first established them for humans to follow and for as long as Yahweh allows mankind to inhabit planet earth.

It must be correct, because obviously snakes, burning bushes and donkeys can talk.

Even I can turn water into wine, provided I add some sugar, flavouring (from fruit or whatever), yeast and a bit of time.

BTW, it isn't mentioned how many tons of bulls--t Noah had to dump from his ark, thus being the first to deliberately pollute our water.

Because you study it, like someone who wants to become a biologist would study a biology text book, then you follow the procedures, and see the results.

This is why the scripture is so sought after, and studied, by so many people, because it's like an ancient textbook teaching of faith in God, and it still works today!

You know that the bible is NOT correct when you compare it to known facts. The Bible is nothing but ancient guesswork, myths and lies.

If the scripture is not diametrical with the science or the fact then it was worthy correct.

I think west people are so smart to just believe blindly in the ancient arab book.

Science proved what the bible already said.

Archeologist uncovered relics of peoples that the bible spoke of.

Prophecies being fulfilled in our day.
