question about microwaving hard boiled eggs?
it might sound like a dumb question as in why not do it yourself. long story short, i don't have a stove so i can't do it :P....
so if you where to crack an egg and microwave it, it will have this plastic/ rubbery like texture right? so will it too have a plastic/rubbery like texture if you where to put a hard boiled egg (with the shell off) in the microwave?!?!
again long story short someone posted a video about how someone is selling fake eggs. how the eggs look more larger then normal and when you boiled it, it would look normal as well. but when you go and microwave it, it would have a plastic/ rubbery like texture. and i want to see if it's normal for this to happen and prove him wrong. and of course this video was from a different country.
i am not asking "how to make a hard boiled egg using a microwave"..... i am ask "what kind of texture will a hard boiled egg have if you microwave it!!"

If you microwave a hard boiled shelled egg, it will turn rubbery and there is also a good chance that it will explode all over the microwave. If you stick a fork in a few place in the hard boiled egg, it probably will not explode but it will still be rubbery. A hard boiled egg with the shell on will also turn rubbery and explode.

P.S. Did you really mean putting an *already hard-boiled* egg into a microwave for even more heating???
I agree with Chiralty, but a quicker method for making a hard boiled (or soft boiled) egg in a microwave would be under water in a cup but first wrapped with aluminum foil. Then it takes only 8-10 min for a hard-boiled egg, and less for a soft-boiled one:

However, ANY egg that's just cooked longer than the miniumum it needs to be cooked will have really rubbery whites.
Having said said that, most any method for getting a hard-boiled egg except *steaming* will give a rubbery white. (With steaming or near-steaming**, the white will be firmed up but kind of soft and much better-tasting imo.)
Eggs can also be "boiled" without a stove or a microwave, like inside an electric coffee maker or electric hot water pot, in a wide-mouth thermos with very hot water, or even on the engine of a car, etc.

It would only get rubbery an gross if you overcook it. There are in fact a few different ways to go about cooking a microwaved egg.
one method is to boil water in the microwave, remove, then place an egg in the water and let it stand 12-14 minutes (for a hard boiled egg).
you can also try poaching it in the microwave http://www.thekitchn.com/how-to-poach-an-egg-in-th...
or this method https://cookpad.com/us/recipes/143703-fried-egg-fo... for a fried egg
or scrambled in a mug http://www.incredibleegg.org/recipe/microwave-coff...
up to you!
just don't throw an egg in there whole though, that'll blow up. I'm not sure what you're trying to get at about the video though.

I just tried to heat up a peeled cut up boiled egg in the microwave for 30 seconds and it totally blew up! Better put it in hot water for a couple minutes...
