How do I get Firefox to remember passwords?

many times when i log into a web site Firefox asks if I want the password saved. BUT sometimes it does not ask and thus i have some email and other accounts with the password saved and others that I want the password saved but Firefox does not give me an opportunity

    Open firefox ..

    Select " tools" then "options" from the menu bar..

    Next click Security tab (At the top)

    Set firefox to remember ..

    Click OK

    If menu bar is not showing .

    Press "Alt" key to display menu bar

    Or Right click at the top of the browser and enable menu bar.

    Or Click the 3 line icon at the end of address bar and select Customize , enable menu bar from "toolbars".

    Next follow my first instructions above.
