Download the plugin NoScript.
It turns off all scripts (Java, Javascript, PHP) by default, unless you allow them for that specific site (e.g. Yahoo.com.)

Type 'about:config' in the address bar and press Enter.
Click I'll be careful I promise.
Type 'javascript.enabled' without quotes.
Double click on the the line with javascript.enabled to change the value to false.
JavaScript can be enabled by completing the process but switching the value to true.
