Do Indians really speak a combination of English and Hindi?

Many languages are spoken in India, but only English and Hindi are official. A few Indians(e.g. Anglo-Indian railway workers) have English as their mother tongue. Most ambitious Indians learn at least some English to advance in their careers. Naturally, many Hindi speakers with just a little English will try to impress the totally ignorant by including a few English words or phrases when speaking Hindi. Snobs in England have been doing the same thing with French for generations: that is why modern English includes so many quite unnecessary French words ("modern", "includes" and "necessary" among them).

message,helmet,jacket,shirt,pant,paint,brush,style,
