What's the difference between a producer and an executive producer?

i think a producer is the guy who makes the beats (the-dream, mannie fresh, mouse on tha track, lex luger, DJ Paul, Juicy J, London on tha Track, rico love.) An executive producer handles the money and contracts, and deals with getting permission to use samples and stuff like that. They are kind of the background guys, they don't really contribute to the actual song, they are more like business men. (Puf Daddy, Birdman, Master P, Jay-Z.) As you know, many of them rap. This is why rappers like Birdman, Master P and Puffy are not that great at rapping, because it is not their skill. They are business men first, then rappers. Some people make beats (produce), while others deal with the business side (executive produce.) Some can do both. An executive producer has to know the business and the industry. A producer just has to make some hot beats for rappers or singers to use. Some producers also rap/sing, like The-Dream and Rico Love. Now days being just a producer is very easy, since all you have to do is know three notes (DJ Mustard.)
