Nasty slow laptop...?
Unfortunately, my laptop is trying to run Windows 10 with a single-core AMD processor and it's nasty slow....almost unusable slow. I tried more memory, but that doesn't help. Anyone have an idea on what I can do to speed it up?

You must clean up and maintain a laptop to keep it fast.
, Go to control panel and uninstall all toolbar programs and all unneeded programs that have been added through internet actions. Since day one!!!!!! Reboot.
Type msconfig in the start search box and click on "startup".
Uncheck all boxes other than hardware related programs. Yes--all boxes.
Reboot and accept changes to msconfig.
Run a free registry cleaner.
Download and run a free virus program such as Malwarebytes.
You should be much faster now because the computer's memory has been freed up.
This problem can and does happen to most PCs.
The online programs that clean up PCs do what I have stated.
Your problem gets listed on this site several times a week and has been answered more thoroughly than I just did so research the listings for other things to do.

Run the Disk Cleanup utility and remove all the redundant files. My guess there is close to 30 GB of crap to remove.
W7 & 10 →
Start Button → All Programs → Accessories → System Tools → Disk Cleanup → (C:) → OK and allow to run
Click "Clean up System Files" → (C:) → OK and allow to run
Check all the boxes, allow to run
W8 & 8.1 → Windows Key → Start typing DISK CLEANUP. Click on results and follow procedure above
This will take some time, be patient and allow to complete
Once completed → Restart computer

Unfortunately, there's nothing you can do except to replace the laptop. Single-core CPUs have gone the way of the dinosaur.
