No I did not laugh! One can purchase a license to perform weddings. An "ordained" minister does not mean a minister of The Lord, but rather a minister, or agent to perform deeds, like wedding ceremonies, etc. One who is officiating or assisting at high state functions entrusted with the management of a division of governmental activities, a diplomatic representative of the court, or a seat of government performing a service for the community. Don't let the word "minister" throw you off!.... It does not necessarily have a religious meaning.
