To make a mixture of coffee worth $272.00, a grocer mixes coffee worth $3.25 a pound with coffee worth $3.85 a pound. How many pounds of the cheaper coffee should the grocer use?

Sorry, I meant " to make a mixture of 80 pounds of coffee worth $272.00" and please explain answer.

    83.69lbs. Idk, wouldn't it depend on how much of each mixture he wants to use (whether it's the cheaper or more expensive kind)? I am way too invested in this.

    Update:

    (80) (x+$3.25)=($272)

    80x+260=272

    80x=272-260

    80x=12

    80x/80=12/80

    x=.15

    15lbs
