Why is this photo upside down?

The photo was taken on an iPhone horizontally with the bottom to the left.

This photo was moved from the iphone to a Windows Vista machine as a JPG by using a USB connection and treating the iPhone as a drive. Once on the Vista, the picture, along with others, was rotated to appear proper when the folder was viewed. However, when the image is collected, it is inverted like it was transferred.

Update:

Why doesn't Yahoo do image loading?

Update 2:

The image was rotated in the Windows Viewer that asks that it be saved and looks right on the folder view - why would one program hold a JPG orientation and another not? And I already did rotate it upside down so it loads right side up. This https://www.flickr.com/photos/9672970@N08/21290506... which has r in the label, appears upside down in the drive folder

Did you actually edit the image to rotate it, or just change the view orientation?

You need to use an image editor (MS Paint will do if you've nothing better), rotate the image and then save it.
