Bidets are mostly useful for people who don't shower often or who actually think "wiping" literally means "wiping" (or "smearing thinly"). Otherwise, just a toilet is sufficient. (A much cheaper thing to do is install a specialised seat on the toilet which mimics a bidet - spraying your genitals with water.)
