Notice how the climate change propagandists that troll Yahoo refuse to admit the truth?
This is how you can tell a climate change propagandist from a free thinking human being. The propagandists always want a government to have the power to tell people to behave like them and believe like them. This is the real key to this whole debate. Free people don't want to force the propagandists to buy V8 powered cars ,or force them to increase their carbon footprint (whatever that is), free human beings want to live the way they want and they don't CARE how the other side lives. The propagandists want to change how you think, believe, and live. They want you to act how they want you to act. It would seem that if you believe in man made climate change, then you can take it upon yourself to change how YOU live without forcing ME to act, think, or live like you..
You see the same mentality in the anti-gun nuts, who want to force gun owners to live their way, to give up their guns, to live and act the way they want you to live. Do the gun owners try to force non-gun owners to buy guns? No, because they believe in freedom of choice, which is the most basic human freedom. Always ask yourself when looking at these debates and considering sides...which side is attempting to force their way of life on the other side? Any group attempting to force their will on others is wrong and immoral. Yet they don't see that because they serve the "greater good". In other words, they serve the state, and personal liberty does not matter.

I think your argument misses a few very critical points. Importantly, yes, you do have the right to live the way you want- but NOT to the extent that it threatens or affects the lives of other people.
We'll look at your climate change argument for one example. To begin, though, "carbon footprint" refers to the amount of carbon dioxide one's activities and lifestyle contribute to the atmosphere- also I will point out that this is essential knowledge to any discussion on climate change, and it's somewhat disingenuous to think you can make a qualified comment on the subject without this sort of basic knowledge. Anyway, as to the issue at hand.
No, nobody is forcing anyone to have a massive carbon footprint or drive an overpowered car. However, if you do choose to do those things, your actions pollute the environment, and that affects other people, not just yourself. A car that churns out gas is a health hazard to people nearby, and it affects the environment, which directly affects all people on the planet. So your argument that "it's my decision to live my life how I want" is not a complete one, as your actions directly affect the lives of other people. It would be no different than if you went and stabbed someone because you wanted to live like that and kill innocent people.
Consequently, you cannot be said to have an unqualified right to do any of the things you're talking about, because they have negative effects on the lives of others. As such, your right to do these things needs to be balanced against the effect on others. I cannot see why you actually need an overpowered car that doesn't conform to emissions regulations- my car, for instance, gets me from A to B just fine without pumping out gas. Consequently, you're trying to argue that you have the right to affect other people unnecessarily, and I cannot agree that this is justifiable in any way.

Climate change is real, and I don't believe government is the solution. They can't build nuclear plants or solar plants because regulations say a turtle is more important than our continued existence. Deregulate the green industry and lower taxes, the free market will take care of the rest. If more conservatives actually believed in science we could come up with more solutions.

Exactly what you said applies to pretty much all debates. Climate change - they wanna force you to drive electric cars and care about the environment, Gun control - they wanna force you into their line of thinking that guns kill people, Political correctness - they wanna force you to have the same opinions as everybody else and force you to never say anything offensive.
Whereas free thinkers don't give two short and curlies what you do, they just wanna do what they wanna do. I like to drive big diesel trucks, but I'm not trying to force you to drive one. I use my guns to hunt and shoot targets, but I'm not trying to force you to buy a gun. I have some offensive opinions and I don't choose my words carefully, but I'm not trying to make you use the same words and have the same opinions.
