What is the longest span of seasons during which no team repeated as the World Series champion?

Seasons without a World Series do not count. Team name changes or relocations do not matter.

Maximum number of seasons without a repeat champion, those years, and the champions in order.

The 2015 result will not affect the answer.

Update:

Span of seasons in which no MLB team repeated -- a different champion each time. Not looking for "longest span per franchise" although, good work well done.

Update 2:

Not concerned with consecutive season repeat champions -- just the longest span of seasons during which no team had more than one title. Different champion franchise each season.

The longest duration without repeat World Series champions is fifteen years, dating back to the 2000 New York Yankees. The previous record of fourteen years (in between the 1978 New York Yankees' win and the 1993 Toronto Blue Jays' win) was broken when the San Francisco Giants, who won the 2014 World Series, did not qualify for the postseason in the 2015 season.

I interpret your question as the last year of a consecutive as being parts of the run. If so, this is the 16th consecutive season with different World Series champions. How long it will last remains to be seen.
