How can I monitor network/internet usage at home?
Something is uploading tons of data every day and it's eating into my allowance like crazy.
Thanks.
Thanks guys.
Sorry, I should have been clearer:
I live in a shared house and we have a usage allowance of 50gb/month.
There are three of us, and something on our network is uploading loads of data every day. We don't have any torrents or file sharing.
I'm looking for a way to find out which device (and then which app/program on that device) is uploading stuff. So I suppose I need something that takes data at the router level, not on a per device level.
Any ideas? Thanks!

You didn't mention what device you are using? That said you shouldn't be uploading a lot of things unknowingly so that is suspicious. If it's on your computer you can just look in network services to see what is doing this or download an internet monitor and single out what is feeding on you. I would think background adware/malware. If it's a phone though.....Well whole different deal. It could be a slew of things and programs. You can also switch to wi-fi when at home if it's your phone to save data charges(most people don't).
